Browns Fine Art and Framing
Description
Brown's Fine Art & Framing was established in 1965 by Mary Grace and James Brown in a small frame shop on North State Street in Jackson, MS. At the time they had 3 children under age 5, Larry, age 4 1/2, Allison, age 2 1/2, and Joel, age 1 1/2. Today, Allison and Joel remain with the family business that Mary Grace and James started and have assisted in making Brown's one of the top gallery/picture framers in the nation.
In 1984, Brown's moved from the small shop on N. State St. into a 6000 square foot building specially designed for picture framing and an art gallery. In 1990, having outgrown the gallery, Brown's renovated their building and built a 4000 square foot workroom to accommodate the 30 artists now showing in the gallery. The 6000 square foot downstairs is dedicated entirely to showing the artist's works and office space while the upstairs workroom handles many large framing jobs as well as small.
