Biography
As an interrogation into life’s challenges, my surreal and satirical animal art depicts feelings of escapism, rebellion, individuality, and struggle. Inspired by childhood dreams, my contemporary art incorporates elements of graphic design and the style of minimalism. My main subjects are horses and other animals, and my passion for them is evident in their intimate depiction in my art. My equine passion began during childhood, in which my first memories involve collecting model horses, riding horses, and drawing horses. My education in forensic science and zoology has contributed to the use of animal themes with the juxtaposition of forensic science elements. Horses and other animals are often used as symbols for strength, vulnerability, and power, amid pop culture references in my whimsical art. I want to challenge the viewer to think and perceive the world from a different perspective, through the eyes of other species. My art is intended to increase an appreciation of other species and raise awareness about the plight of animals on this planet. It also demonstrates a hypothetical and satirical animal perspective on the afflictions of society, including materialism, narcissism, and conformity. It is intended to be intellectually and aesthetically stimulating, introspective, and humorous, while portraying the challenges of life.
