Description

This fused glass plate was made using glass sheet and glass sand called frit. The pattern is created by cutting small squares from translucent sky blue, turquoise and lavender glass, arranging it evenly on another sheet of translucent lavender over opaque white glass and coloring in the spaces between the squares with various shades of blue, green, and purple frit. The frit settles when it is fired so multiple layers are needed to fill the space. the effect created is that of a matrix pattern of undulating shifting colors floating above a fixed plane.

This plate is 9" wide and 3/4" deep.
