Description

This original design, 11"x9", fused glass suncatcher was cast in an original design, handmade mold using crushed glass called frit. The depth of color and intricacy of design is achieved through layering color and multiple kiln-firings.

It is wrapped with 20 gauge, fine silver wire at two points and hangs from a steel chain.

This piece has a dramatic movement with the thin spiraling arms that extend asymmetrically from the fluid movement of the body. The arms end at the center of the spirals, in brilliant turquoise that blends into cobalt blue, and purple. As the color blends into the body of the piece the colors go from burgundy to red and finally a deep, rich orange at the heart of the dancer.

This is the first of a series of pieces with this title. Color, pattern and/or shape will vary somewhat in the coming pieces.

The Dancer looks beautiful hanging in a window where it will catch the light and send color across the room, or as a wall hanging.
